160 new deaths bring state's COVID-19 toll past 5,000; contact tracing ramping up

The state's death toll from COVID-19 infections surpassed 5,000 Wednesday as state health officials announced another 160 residents died from the disease. The state is ramping up contact tracing efforts for those sickened by the virus in an attempt to limit the public's exposure to those who may be infected but not know it.
