Authorities: Driver's blood alcohol was .142 in Naperville quarry deaths

July 22, 2014

The Geneva man charged with drunken driving in a crash that killed two passengers had a blood alcohol concentration of .142 early Saturday morning after his car plunged into a water-filled Naperville quarry, authorities said Monday. That put Michael T. Szot, 21, far above the legal limit of .08, the DuPage County State's Attorney's office said. Authorities said he also admitted smoking marijuana earlier in the day and was found in possession of a marijuana pipe.
