Batavia comedy writer captures Christmas in the suburbs, circa 1980s. | |

December 24, 2013 Growing up in Batavia in the 1980s, Kevin Jakubowski remembers getting the gift of his 9-year-old dreams – a Nintendo Entertainment System. The experience was so profound, he wrote a book about it. "8-Bit Christmas" is the first novel by Jakubowski, 34, a comedy writer for shows on Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, who also wrote the movie "Assassination of a High School President" starring Bruce Willis.
