Bond set at $1 million for deputy shooting suspect

Bond was set at $1 million for the Holiday Hills man accused of shooting and wounding two McHenry County Sheriff's deputies. Scott B. Peters, 52, of the 1300 block of Northeast Shore Drive, limped into McHenry County bond court for his first hearing on charges in the case. They include two counts of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, punishable by 20 to 80 years in prison on each count, and two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison. Both are Class X felonies, officials said.
