Cassandra Noguera Urges Us to Consider Pet Adoption this Holiday Season

November 30, 2011

Adopting a pet means you are saving a life. Many shelters are forced to put down those animals that are not rescued due to overcrowding.

Las Vegas, NV - Cassandra Noguera, a longtime advocate of animal rights, is urging us all to consider adopting a pet instead of purchasing a new pet this holiday season.

Cassandra Noguera is an animal lover and has been since she was a child. Although she hasn't yet rescued an animal, she plans on going the adoption route in the near future. Cassandra Noguera currently has three loving pets; two were purchased and one was received as a gift. After learning of the many benefits of recuing an animal as opposed to buying, Cassandra Noguera will most certainly opt for rescued animals moving forward.

The holidays are a popular time of year for bringing new pets into the home and many people tend to purchase pets as gifts this time of year. Cassandra Noguera is reaching out to remind us all that an adopted pet is a better option to purchasing a puppy or kitten from a pet store. As our economy worsens, many individuals and families have been forced to put their beloved pets up for adoption due to loss of income, downsizing their homes, and relocating to new locations to find work. Animal rescues have seen an increase in the number of pets in need of a good home in the past year and Cassandra Noguera wants to remind us all of the benefits associated with choosing to adopt a pet.
Adopting a pet provides numerous benefits, not only to the pet being rescued and the facility they are rescued from, but also to the individual of family that chooses adoption over a pet store purchase. "The benefits of adopting a pet are numerous," notes Cassandra Noguera, "there is no greater feeling than rescuing an animal in need."

Adopting a pet means you are saving a life. Many shelters are forced to put down those animals that are not rescued due to overcrowding. Choosing to adopt a pet from an animal shelter or animal adoption agency means you are not only saving a life, you are also greatly increasing its quality of life.

When you adopt a pet, you are actually saving a lot of money. Adoption is relatively inexpensive, compared to purchasing from a pet store and you'll save on spaying or neutering and the cost of vaccinations, explains Cassandra Noguera. Not only will you save money, but you'll have peace of mind knowing the adopted animal is healthy.

When you purchase a new pet sold in pet stores or newspaper ads, you run the risk of the pet coming from puppy mills. These mass dog-breeding businesses are often inhumane and can be harmful to the health of the bred puppies. "By choosing adoption," says Cassandra Noguera, "you avoid the potential of supporting a puppy mill."

The benefits of adopting a pet are numerous. This holiday season, Cassandra Noguera wants anyone considering a pet as a gift to consider saving a life by choosing adoption.
