January 01, 2014 More snow showers are expected throughout the region with the Northwest suburbs picking up another inch or two of snow within the next three hours, a National Weather Service spokesman said Wednesday morning. Snowfall blanketed the area through midnight Tuesday followed by overnight flurries. Towns across the Northwest suburbs received anywhere from four to five inches of snowfall.
