Cupich praises pilgrims at Guadalupe celebration in Des Plaines | |

December 13, 2014 Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich urged the crowd huddled outside after midnight in Des Plaines to cheer. "Yo soy guadalupano!" and "Viva Mexico!," Cupich stirred the throngs. Making one of his first appearances in the suburbs since taking the helm of the archdiocese in November, Cupich kept an intimate atmosphere for the thousands of worshippers celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at her shrine on the Maryville campus.
