April 20, 2013 The Des Plaines River reached a record high of 10.92 feet in Des Plaines Friday afternoon. Des Plaines firefighters Friday were evacuating people from Big Bend Drive, Hawthorne Lane, Hawthorne Terrace and Junior Terrace.
