December 16, 2013 Round Lake Park would seem to have hardly any guns in town compared to the similarly sized village of Itasca, based on town-by-town Illinois Firearm Owners Identification candholder records. Yet, those statistics don't show the true picture, experts say. "We do believe that we have a substantial illegal gun problem within Round Lake Park specifically attributed to the underground sales of guns in exchange of weapons for narcotics by local gangs," Chief George Filenko said.
