Downers Grove man pleads not guilty to shooting mom outside church | |

September 14, 2013 Prosecutors said they will seek an extended term of up to natural life in prison for a Downers Grove man charged with fatally shooting his mother outside a Burr Ridge church. Michael Zaky Bassaly, 27, formally pleaded not guilty Friday to five counts of first-degree murder in the early Aug. 29 slaying of his 61-year-old mother, Yvonne Zaky Bassaly.
