Elgin mom advocates for parents to skip immunizations | |

June 30, 2013 Hollie Redinger of Elgin isn't sold on the benefits of vaccines. And she's not alone. While 98 percent of kids in school in Illinois have had their required shots, that still leaves more than 68,000 who didn't for reasons that aren't always clear, but that can include the parents fear of side effects, doubts about their effectiveness, and their religious beliefs.
