Ex-councilman Robert Gilliam remembered as an Elgin statesman | |

December 31, 2014 Former Elgin councilman Bob Gilliam, the city's longest serving council member, died Tuesday morning, a little more than three months after city hall was renamed after him. And Tuesday he was recalled as a compassionate statesman. "I can't say enough how much he loved that town," his wife said, referring to Elgin. "He was a good friend to many people."
