Father of slain 5-year-old likely to testify in Hernandez trial | |

June 09, 2014 The father of a 5-year-old Elgin boy killed three years ago in what prosecutors describe as gang payback is expected to testify today in the murder trial of Miguel Hernandez Jr. Hernandez, 29, has been charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 7, 2011, shooting death of Eric Galarza Jr. Prosecutors say Hernandez, of Elgin, intended to shoot the boy's father, Eric Galarza Sr., who is a member of the same gang as Hernandez.
