Fire at BP Oil Refinery in Washington State | |

February 17, 2012 A large fire broke out at the BP Cherry Point oil refinery in northwestern Washington State. It is the largest oil refinery in the state and the fourth largest on the West Coast. The refinery can produce up to 230,000 barrels of fuel a day and has more than 700 full-time employees. The cause of the fire is unknown.
