Flu sends Schaumburg dad to brink of death | |

April 03, 2014 Mike LaRosa of Schaumburg brushed off the idea of a flu shot but then found himself in the ICU at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village battling a case of influenza so bad, his doctor called him "one of the sickest patients I’ve ever had." Now recovering, he wants others to learn from what he went through. “There’s no logical explanation for it, other than it’s a miracle,” LaRosa said.
