From despair to elation: A suburban Titanic story | |

April 16, 2012 Oscar Johnson waited in St. Charles and hoped against hope that his wife and two young children had survived the Titanic disaster. A letter announcing they were aboard the ship arrived in St. Charles within days after the sinking. In his days of uncertainty, he was thankful for the support of the St. Charles community.
