GTBank declares N44.9bn profit, proposes 25k half-year interim dividend

FOR the half year ended June 30, 2012 Guaranty Trust Bank Plc has proposed 25kobo interim dividend.

Profit after tax, according to the bank also increased from N26.84 billion to N44.94 billion whle gross earnings went up by 25 per cent to N106.122 billion compared with N84.77 billion in previous year.

Commenting on the results, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Segun Agbaje, attributed the bank’s achievements during the first six months of 2012, to what he identified as operating strategy and adherence to its principles.

Other factors, according to Agbaje, were the dedication of all GTBank employees and the support it continues to receive from its customers and other stakeholders.

He was quoted in a statement as saying: “Our goal is to become the bank of choice for discerning customers within the African market space by constantly innovating and ensuring our customers perform their banking activities safely and conveniently.

“Guaranty Trust Bank plc has always been at the forefront of industry service innovations within markets wherein it operates, having successfully replicated its culture for excellence in banking subsidiaries at Ghana, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and the United Kingdom”.
