April 18, 2013 As rain continues to fall, Lake County officials are telling residents to prepare for major flooding. C. Kent McKenzie, head of emergency management for Lake County, said early that the Des Plaines River in Gurnee will receive water levels nearly 4-feet over flood levels, and that the Fox River in New Munster in Wisconsin is expected to reach 15-feet, five feet over flood stage.
