Hernandez testifies a different man shot 5-year-old | |

June 11, 2014 An Elgin man took the stand this morning to say he didn't shoot 5-year-old Eric Galarza Jr. and he didn't report the man who did fire the gun "because he threatened my life." Miguel Hernandez Jr. remains on the stand, and the jury is expected to begin deliberations this aftenroon. Eric Galarza Jr. died of a single gunshot wound to his head after prosecutors say Hernandez, 29, fired multiple rounds into the car he was riding in around 7 p.m. Oct. 7, 2011.
