Hoffman Estates fatal street racing trial begins

Opening statements are this morning in the trial of a TImothy Salveson, 39, of Bartlett, who is charged with aggravated street racing stemming from in a crash that killed two people. If convicted of leaving the scene of an accident involving a death, Salvesen could face up to 15 years in prison. If convicted of aggravated street racing, he could face up to 12 years in prison. In both cases, probation is available.
