Judge declares Baker fit to stand trial | |

October 13, 2012 Daniel Baker of Deerfield is mentally fit to stand trial for the April 2010 murder of a 50-year-old Vernon Hills woman, a Lake County judge ruled Friday. Judge Daniel Shanes said Baker understands the charges against him and is able to assist defense attorneys in his trial, now scheduled to begin Monday in Waukegan.
