Lake County residents cautioned to avoid ticks as Lyme disease reports hit record | |
August 20, 2013 The Lake County Health Department is warning reidents to be aware of ticks in light of a record number of reported cases of Lyme disease, which features a bulls-eye rash accompanied by flu like symtoms. "They can be in your own backyard," said Leslie Piotrowski, spokeswoman for the health department. Twenty cases have been reported so far this year, surpassing 19 cases reported in 2011.
