McHenry County honors heroes of Holiday Hills shootout | |

November 19, 2014 It was a day of firsts for the McHenry County sheriff's office. The department awarded two purple hearts, an award of valor, and unit citations for the entire detective and patrol divisions. The awards honored the first responders and supporting officers who saved the day on Oct. 16 when a domestic dispute call in Holiday Hills turned into a shootout.
