More snow expected with bitter cold Monday

January 05, 2015

The deep freeze expected to hit the Chicago region later today, dropping temperatures well below zero and wind chills to dangerously low levels, could be accompanied by more than six inches of snow beginning Monday night, forecasters said Sunday. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook Sunday predicting that some parts of the area would see more than a half foot of snow that, combined with high winds, could make for dangerous travel conditions Tuesday and Wednesday.
