Mother Gives Birth in Backseat of Honda Fit, Plaza Honda answers Twitterverse's Call | |

Exactly 17 days after Beth Newell gave birth to a baby girl in the back of a Honda Fit, the Newell family arrived in Brooklyn at Plaza Honda's dealership on Nostrand Avenue to pick up their free 2016 Honda CR-V. With two-week old Maeven and toddler Brin in tow, they were handed the keys to their brand new vehicle by Tony Urrutia, Plaza Auto Mall's General Manager. Newell (@BethNew) made headlines in early May after she tweeted a photo of herself and her only minutes-old newborn in the back of a Honda Fit with the caption "@Honda, earlier today I gave birth to my daughter in the back of a Honda Fit. It is a mess. Can I have a free car?" A few days later, Plaza Honda responded with a resounding "yes" and contacted the mother via DM to begin organizing the family's free 3-year lease on the car of their dreams. The entire Plaza Honda team turned out to congratulate the family and take part in the event. Baby Maeven slept peacefully in her mother's arms while her older brother Brin came close to stealing the show with his adorable antics.
