Multiple pensions help maximize short-time judges' benefits | |

November 02, 2011 Almost 40 percent of the 715 retired Illinois judges are using multiple public pensions to boost their lucrative judicial retirement benefits. That includes 43 who use three public pensions. Thanks to a loophole in the state's pension law, some judges who spent less than six years on the bench qualify for judicial pensions, as well.
