NIU Antarctic study, Fermilab activities in jeopardy from federal shutdown | |

October 10, 2013 The partial shutdown of the federal government is putting a Northern Illinois University study of climate change in jeopardy. And Fermilab in Batavia is curtailing public activies, such as lectures and tours, as it tries to stretch its reserves. "What can we do? Our hands are tied," geologist Reed Scherer of Elburn said.
