NIU routs Bowling Green 51-17 for MAC title | |

December 06, 2014 Needing one more win for a second straight Mid-American Conference title, Bowling Green was upstaged by a familiar rival with a fast-paced offense of its own. Drew Hare threw for two touchdowns and ran for one, and Northern Illinois wrested the MAC crown from Bowling Green in emphatic fashion Friday night, beating the Falcons 51-17. The Huskies set MAC championship game records for points and margin of victory. "They left no doubt in everyone's mind who the best football team in the conference is this year," Bowling Green coach Dino Babers said.
