Oberman picked to chair Metra board | |

February 11, 2014 Metra’s board got a fresh start Tuesday with the appointment of Chicago attorney and former Alderman Martin Oberman as chairman. Historically, there’s been a push and pull between the city and suburbs over control of the Metra board. Oberman was picked by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, while former CTA attorney John Plante of Wilmette and Lemont Mayor Brian Reave were chosen by Cook County board members.
