President Trump becomes the third U.S. president to be impeached | |

December 19, 2019 The U.S. House of Representatives has impeached President Donald Trump on two articles of impeachment, accusing him of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The allegations against the 45th American president now will be heard in a Senate trial next year, presided over by Chief Justice John Roberts. Trump is just the third American president to be impeached, following Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998.
