St. Charles honors South Elgin WWII vet inspired by Pearl Harbor attack

South Elgin Resident Angelo DiLiberti was a young man listening to his favorite radio programs when news of the attack on Pearl Harbor hit the airwaves. Like many, he was called to serve in the Army. On Saturday, he will remember strength, not defeat. "I'm not one of those guys who remembers Pearl Harbor as a defeat. It was a disaster, but it inspired and unified all of us."
