St. Charles students expelled for shutting down Dist. 303 network

December 19, 2014

Two St. Charles East High School students successfully shut down District 303's network for the better part of a month in an ongoing denial-of-service attack. They were expelled for the rest of the year, but it cost the district about $9,000. "It clearly made life very difficult for our teaching staff," Superintendent Don Schlomann said. "I think, clearly, that had a great deal of impact on our classrooms. And that was the most concerning part of this for me."
