State police investigating fatal officer-involved shooting in Des Plaines | |

May 15, 2012 The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force is leading the investigation into the fatal police shooting of an Elk Grove Township man described by authorities as a known gang member with an extensive criminal history involving drugs and weapons. Carlos Salgado, 44, a married father who lived in the Oasis Mobile Home Park, was killed Sunday afternoon during a confrontation with police.
