Suburban athletes take shot at Olympics in London | |

July 27, 2012 With the 2012 Olympic Games opening Friday night in London, the stage is set for stars from the suburbs, Chicago and across Illinois to enjoy their shot at Olympic glory. In all, 45 Olympians have ties to the Chicago area or the state of Illinois, with 15 having some roots in the suburbs. Here's a look at some of the local athletes to watch.
