December 18, 2012 As the nation reels from the horror of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., people in the suburbs are wondering how to best help families of the victims. While local families who lost children in the 2008 shooting at NIU say every word of condolence can provide some comfort, some people and organizations have sprung into action in other ways.
