December 17, 2018 On Dec. 15, 1898, Hosea C. Paddock started his newspaper business in the rural hamlets that would become the Northwest suburbs. After 120 years of leadership from four generations of the Paddock family, his descendants have sold the Daily Herald media company to its employees.
