July 10, 2014 D'Andre Howard will spend the rest of his life in jail for murdering three members of the Engelhardt family in Hoffman Estates in 2009, and for attempting to murder a fourth. "The wounds and pain that you inflicted on us have not weakened our family and will not define our future," Shelly Engelhardt said in court to the man who stabbed her and killed her husband, daughter and mother.
