May 27, 2014 While Memorial Day's mission is to never forget the sacrifices and ultimate sacrifices of America's veterans in general, Arlington Heights always shows an entire village can take the time for specific remembrances as well. "Many Americans have forgotten the meaning of Memorial Day," Chuck Vassallo, commander of Arlington Heights' Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 981, said.
