Warrants provide motive, timeline in E. Dundee murder | |

September 24, 2014 Additional search warrants have revealed that Richard Schmelzer, a Texas man accused of killing his East Dundee grandmother in July, wired $50,000 to a Las Vegas escort. Schmelzer's friend also rented a car that was returned after two days with nearly 2,000 new miles on it and the same car was caught on camera for a toll violation in Bolingbrook on July 18, the same day Mildred "Dodie" Darrington was found dead in her home, according to court records.
