'We have not told this story correctly': Waubonsie Valley updating its Potawatomi imagery | |

August 09, 2022 Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora has begun replacing inaccurate and offensive portrayals of Native Americans that are based on the school's Warriors nickname. The multiyear program includes a new mural and other items honoring and telling the true story of Chief Waubonsie and the Potawatomi people who lived for hundreds of years in the region.
