Will new rules make all trains carrying hazardous materials safe? | |

September 26, 2014 More than one-third of Illinois' serious hazardous material leaks from freight trains occur in the suburbs, a Daily Herald analysis shows. Proposed rules would make some tank cars safer, but about one-third of train-related hazmat incidents in the suburbs would not have been helped by the proposed changes.
