March 26, 2014 After more than 15 years as a gastrointestinal nurse, Sasha Stefanov never thought she would become the patient. But, a bout with colon cancer last year changed her perspective on her job and life. Now healthy, the Buffalo Grove nurse is spending March, Colon Cancer Awareness Month, shedding light on symptoms and a disease that some people may be embarrassed to talk about.
