July 12, 2014 Jennifer Nickels' complaints about a teacher rewarding her 7-year-old daughter and other Dundee Highlands Elementary School students with candy prompted a schoolwide survey to parents, who were fine with the sweets. Meanwhile, policies about candy and other treats doled out during the school day vary across the suburbs.
