January 29, 2015 The pilgrimage by baseball fans to pay tribute to Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks has begun. While a public visitation and memorial service for Hall of Fame slugger Ernie Banks will be held Friday and Saturday in the city, fans of the Hall of Fame player, who died Friday at the age of 83, are flocking to Daley Plaza to pay tribute at the Ernie Banks statue on display there through Saturday.
