January 02, 2014 The first babies of 2014 born in Lake and Northwest suburban Cook counties didn't waste time welcoming the new year. They were born at 12:31 a.m. at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington and 1:18 a.m. at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.
