Global Markets Update: European Shares Higher on Hope of Greek Debt Deal | |

January 31, 2012 US futures point to Wall Street opening higher on the back of a more positive sentiment in Asia and Europe. European shares rose on hopes Greece was nearing a debt swap deal needed to avoid a messy default, while European leaders agreed on stricter budget discipline measures to help prevent further debt accumulation in the region.
