Shooting suspect caught after passers-by spotted him | |

October 17, 2014 Scott B. Peters had been on the loose for almost 16 hours but didn't get more than six miles away from where authorities say he shot two McHenry County sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic disturbance. Peters, 52, of Holiday Hills, was arrested without incident just before 5 p.m. Thursday near Route 176 and Smith Road in Crystal Lake after he was spotted by two passers-by.
